You have no idea how much it blesses me to know that my history in life has touched you & your husband. I am blessed because even though I had to go through this chapter in life and I do not understand it, If it helps even one person to have a better and less painful day, it is worth it.
I can really say this because even as much as I try to control everything about me, I can not do it. That is why it is awesome to have my Heavenly Father to go to with me and face every problem that I incur. I know that he has not only made a path for me to walk but that he has walked the same path in front of me to clear the most harmful things out of the way and will teach & help me get through the rest of the junk. I could not make it in life without knowing this in life. I am not saying that all is peachy everyday because we as humans can mess things up so much of the time.
Please let your husband know that I understand where he is and he is not alone in it. I hurt for him because of his pain. I have been to the very bottom and it was the most dreadful time ever. I could actually feel death knocking at my door but at that time I was so confused with all the WHY ME?,
WHERE ARE YOU?, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY LONGER, PLEASE HELP ME. With my faith being tested to the breaking point I was able to discover a way out. This happened for me through prayers, and knowing that my wife would rather die with me than to be left alone without me on earth. (We are Soul Mates forever), but then we both knew that a long time ago.
Eventually I started to see HOPE. We all need HOPE if we are to get better or even just figure out how to make it through this stuff. I was focused on getting better rather than just making it through it all. I think this is because of my background through the Church and a relationship with God.
All I can tell him is to NEVER GIVE UP HOPE. That is a bad place to go and I was there. Tell him to put forth every bit of energy he has in getting better and to believe that it will happen. Even when he has a setback, keep pushing forward. God will meet his needs and he will break through this wall he sees in front of him. Have him look past the wall and even if he has to look back in time to the happiest day he ever had as a starting point. Do it. He will WIN the fight. It is so much in our minds as to how we can fight. NEVER GIVE UP . IF YOU DO GIVE UP, START OVER AND THINK POSITIVE EVERYDAY. The reward of victory is awesome.
