Thank you Brent for the information about the chairs. I apologize for
putting you on the spot like that but I knew you wouldn't say
anything about the chairs to Graham, even privately, unless I
mentioned it first. I can't imagine any of us figured it was an ad.
I know telling people about the chairs was not something you wanted
to do but in Grahams case, sitting up is something that I believe
will make a great deal of difference in his sleep, breathing and
overall health. A poor quality chair will not give him the control of
position he is going to need. That is why I mentioned your name and
the chairs.
Years ago, before I got the fentanyl patch, I used a very old
recliner I got from a church run thrift store for $10, so I could
spend some time in my living room and not have all my children have
to come to the bedroom to see me or talk to me as I was laying down
on the bed 24 hours a day. That recliner was OK for people who didn't
almost have to live in it, as I did for some months, or without back
problems or leg pain and I did appreciate it but I would have found a
more adjustable and more properly padded chair to have been more
comfortable.
I know you well enough to know how much you agonized over putting
that information and those prices on the forum. None of us want to
seem like we are taking advantage of anyone and I know you aren't. I
consider it medical information, just like the drug info we share and
the cost of the pills we take or insurance we have.
We all know we can go to a goodwill store and buy a simple recliner
chair there if that meets our budget or preference but I also believe
these are probably the best chairs for people with back and leg pain
and breathing problems. I would rather buy from someone in the forum
who has a worthwhile product that I need, than buy from someone else.
Graham, if you get cramps in your lower legs when you walk, next time
you see your physician ask him if you have "intermittent
claudication." If you do, I can suggest something that will probably
improve that very substantially in a couple of weeks. It is pain
caused by blood not being able to go moving through somewhat plugged
up arteries and the leg muscles get starved for oxygen and blood
flow. It can cause fatal blood clots and your breathing problems may
be a symptom of having some clots already located around your lungs
so your symptoms MUST be properly assessed by an expert.
Best of luck to Graham. Thank you Brent for responding to the
pressure. Thank you Don for your e-mail. Working together we can help
one another.
Brent, we are all extremely interested in that snail toxin that is
going to be put in your pump. I have followed this product for over
10 years through all of its development. It is about 800 times more
potent than morphine and 6-8 times more potent than fentanyl maybe
even 10 - 15 times more potent. It is only available for use in
pumps, there is no oral equivalent. In time, this may be what all of
us will be using. Your experience with it is very eagerly anticipated
and we all hope for the very best pain relief for you.
