Hello, My name is Brent and I live in Utah. I have had 7 surgeries
including a spinal cord stim. I have had 3 Myleograms, and over 25
epidural injections. That is all in the last 2 years. Last week, a
surgeon told me I have severe adhesive arachnoiditis at several
levels of my lumbar spine. ( all the levels covered by the last ct
myleogram I had 8 weeks ago) The last two years of pain have cost
me the 5 companies I had owned due to not being able to run them
properly. It just cost me about the least physically demanding job
I could ever hope for last week. I started the process to get ssdi
also last week. I have a letter from my employer saying I am unable
to physically perform my job. I also have 2 Dr.s who will write
letters for me saying I am disabled and have the disease. I realize
that most people get turned down the first, and even second time
through, I am trying to improve my chances. Is there anything in
particular that the Dr.'s can write in their letters to improve my
chances?
My other question is this, has anyone had any success with
malpractice? If a Myleogram I had 20 months ago showed this
problem, and the Dr. missed it and kept sticking needles in me,
would that not be considered malpractice?
Just wondering.
I am sorry my post is so long.
