Well after 2 years or so of playing their game and jumping through tons of hoops I have the hearing for my appeal on the 26th!!! Having been diagnosed with arachnoiditis in August 2004 after surgery a year prior for spondyolisthesis/spondylolysis I applied for benefits and was denied. Rather then mess around and try to do an appeal on my own I decided to get an attorney to help me. I am looking forward to my appeal as I truly feel once they spend some time with me and hear my side of things they will approve me.

After speaking with my attorney his opinion is that my age played heavily in their original decision as I am somewhat(far) younger then the average person applying for disability (Guess they forgot that AA is a debilitating lifetime issue...). I would hate to think that was the truth but having a proper diagnoses using one of their 2 approved methods as well as all the other medical issues I have (excruciating migraines thanks to my AA and some other things) but I guess we will never really know.

Now I am excited and at the same time apprehensive and I will let everyone know how it goes.

Ed
