Apitherapy is the therapeutic use of honey bees and bee products.
This group is formed to explore Apitherapy including the interesting potential of Bee Venom Therapy (BVT). It is a site to find more information about Apitherapy, and share experiences using this ancient alternative therapy to combat the effects of a number of diseases. The group will not offer medical advice and this therapy is not FDA approved, but has resulted in numerous TV and other reports of significant improvement for some people when conventional medicine alledgedly did not.
Georgetown University is doing a clinically controlled study related to MS. "The Journal of the American Apitherapy Society" reports on studies around the world using apitherapy to treat illnesses and injuries. In addition to bee venom therapy, honey, propolis, royal jelly, pollen, and "bee bread" has been used to benefit many illnesses and wounds.
Claims of substantial improvement with symptoms of the following diseases or disorders have been recorded as resulting in improved objective medical test results:
ALS
Arthritis, Gout, Tennis Elbow
Back and Neck Pain
Balance and Coordination

How honey bee venom works is based on its benefical natural ingredients including neurotransmitters and anti-inflamatory chemicals. Combining the stings with Acupressure/Acupuncture points, nerve meridians, and scared areas is also thought to improve effectiveness of the therapy.
As a new user of this unconventional therapy, I wanted to share my subjective personal experience as well.
Best Wishes,
