I wish you more sunshine than shadows,
more comfort than trouble or pain,
more grace than greed,
more gratitude than need,
more days filled with rainbows than rain.

I wish you more joy than money can buy,
more love than your heart can hold,
more laughter than tears,
more courage than fears,
more memories than silver or gold.

I wish you more Christmas than presents,
more church than a place Sunday morn,
more hellos than good-byes,
more blue than gray skies,
more reasons than whys - you were born.

Dear All,

Namaste,

For most of my life I have been thinking to 'bring a change in me' but
acting in opposite way..putting up a screen savor between me and Love.
Thinking all the twisting turns that might throw me out from the 'cliff of
life' down into the unknown..

It has gotten me to have a ear infection..maybe because I dont listen to my
inner voice..and Hemorrhoids..because I have been fearing a deadline...

My brothers Office has sanctioned him a 20 days paid leave..and I have been
worrying till no end about what it will do to me..and how my brother, family
might force me to do something out of desparation, out of choice..

And as the festival of Diwali is coming near..I can feel my relatives
calling us, inquiring about me in taunts and insults..trying to fuel the
fire..

I dont want to dictated by the choices that I didint make or by the Choices
that others made for me..

So I am choosing to see the Light now..Light appearing in the morning
sky..taking over darkness, and doubts..and reaching to all corners.

I felt like writing this poem. for sometime I have been thinking about '17
Seconds exercise of being positive' by Abe. I tried being that..and saw
myself swaying from one end of the spectrum to the other from fears to love
and back to fears..and swaying back..

So I felt like writing a poem, song on my '17 seconds'..I think its not
enough to try to be positive and loving..because it feels like to be those
kids, adults who stand on the city roads of bombay with placards of
adveristments in their hand..trying to put up their hands so that everyone
can see the ads..but getting tired and frustrated in no time.. It isint the
placard situation that will help me..however long I might hold affirmations
and positive thoughts on my mental board..if at the same time I am being
positive out of dread.

I feel beautiful right now..when I do feel beautiful..I feel as if this
beauty can be evaporated like a flow of stream passing through to my fingers
and body..I feel like rubbing it to everyone I meet, everyone I love,
everyone who is in pain, tears, in separation with their heart.. I feel as
if my soul has a music like that of a celtic song..sung in a pure tone,
viberance of Love, Divinity and Harmony.

I am sending this beauty, love that I feel lnside me..to All of You My Dear
Friends, Family, Lightworkers and hoping that it will touch your Hearts and
cleanse you of your worries, whatever pain or ill that you might be facing
right now..

With Blessings and Heartfelt Love,

Nachi

17 Seconds ~ A Poem by Nachi
*************************

I have been chasing life too long..wanting things in life..
to have traquility, peace of mind..
to come from nothing but Love and manifest in my life.
My chase was like that of a horse from the West
which ran after the Carrot
that was attached to its head by a stick & a thread
and the more it chased it..in hunger, and in want,
the more difficult his chase became..

It seemed that the more harder I tried not to fail
the more it seemed that there was no other end.
I still have fears in my heart even now as I write this poem
ghosts of thoughts that try hard to scare me of my life..
but I will remain quiet and let them dance in any manner they want..
Its only matter of time..before they will give in
and its their turn to chase me now..
I wont hold them any longer in my mind
I am choosing My Calm Right now, Right This Moment.

I just saw this article and although this is just basic common sense,
it's nice to be reminded sometimes.

Personally, I like the idea of doing all of that at the same time -
perhaps in a nice lagoon somewhere, blue and crisply pleasant?

Subject: [aahealth] De-Stress Yourself With Water, Oxygen And Sunlight!
Article written by:
Willie Jones

Oxygen, water and sunlight are the most basic life giving
elements on this earth. Without them we have no existence here,
but our current lifestyles being so hectic, we seem to take it
all for granted and not much thought goes into the fact that we
need these elements daily to survive properly.

Our bodies are 70% water and we extract water from what we eat
and drink. No doubt you’ve heard that you should drink eight
glasses of water per day. This is true although some people may
need even more than that. Water is what hydrates you. Drinks
like coffee, sodas and alcohol will dehydrate you. Not to say
that you should never drink them, but if you do, then drink
extra water to make up for it.

How do you know if you are dehydrated? Here are some tips:

1) If you push your finger down on your skin and it does not
pop back up immediately but feels a bit mushy and comes back
slower, then you are dehydrated.

2) If your urine is dark yellow and has an odor, then you are
dehydrated. Urine should be fairly clear and odor free. Note:
there are foods such as asparagus or b-vitamins that will give
your urine a dark color but that is natural and nothing to
worry about.

3) If you are fatigued, your skin is flushed or your lips or
mouth is dry then you may be dehydrated.

Sunlight is another element that we need to survive. We get
lots of warnings that we need to protect ourselves from the sun
and to use sunscreen and stay indoors as much as possible. There
is some merit to that, but we get vitamin D directly from the
sun and you only need about 15 to 20 minutes to get that. Plus
if you are like me, a few days of non-stop rain can be very
depressing. As soon as the sun comes up, my spirits rise
dramatically. Enjoying the sunshine can give you that boost,
lift your spirits and make you feel better. Relaxing in the
sun, a great way to de-stress.

Oxygen! Getting enough is vital, but alas, we have become
shallow breathers and many more of us than you realize don’t
get enough oxygen. How, you say?

Well, just look at the couch potato watching TV all day, or
people that have machines that do most of the work for us. How
often have you seen lawn maintenance personnel sitting on a
lawn mower cutting the grass? We used to get out and push. It
was a huff and puff job but you certainly would be breathing
hard afterwards.

Kids used to walk to school, now they take buses or get driven
to school. How many of us sit in an office all day working at
our computers. Then we go out for a sit down lunch, work some
more and get home and relax in front of the TV for the rest of
the night trying to unwind from the mental stress of the day.
Sleep and do the same routine the next day and the next day and
so on. When Do We Really Move Our Bodies?

There are a certain percentage of people that will go to the
gym regularly or do cardio workouts and then you have people
who dance etc. For those of you already doing that, my hats off
to you.

We need oxygen for all the cells in our bodies to be healthy.
The best way to do that is to move our bodies around and breath
deeply. Most exercise classes will get you there. It does not
matter if you do weights, yoga, running or walking. Get
yourself moving and breathing.

You can also do breathing exercises while sitting or lying
down. Get yourself comfortable and slowly breath in through
your nose and then slowly release from your mouth. Do this
several times. Take a break for a few minutes and do it again
several more times. I did this while I was on an airplane and
was amazed at how much better I felt. I’ve done this ever
since. It works great!

In short, drink water, breath deeply and get some sun (in
moderation)! You’ll feel better!

If you can’t seem to get yourself motivated to do this then try
putting up some motivational posters to get you going. Put them
in places where you will see them often to remind you. It works
for me!

hi Brittany,

hmm... looks like all the grown-ups on this list have left for the weekend, but
that's ok as I know what to do now:

First, download the free eft prototcol from the files section on this site.

Then read it .

Then do it.

It's surprisingly easy to do. Once you've done it a few times the location of
the tapping points is automatic, and you can concentrate on the issue that
you're tapping on.

Start with a general opening statement such as

"even though I'm anxious about this vacation......",

and see how that feels. Then move onto specific aspects of the vacation that are
worrying for you.

And remember, the only "tools" that you need for this are your fingers so you'll
always have them with you. And you can do this as often as you feel you need to.

So do it.

Do it now and feel better!

best of luck

Eifion

hi Val

thanks.
I'm trying to get used to it!
homeopathic AAA is short for:Ambr/ Anac/ Arg N (AAA), a combination
remedy which helps you stay cool on 1-off occasions (such as exams).
It's homeopathic so there are no side effects, but it's not the
answer to longer term stress as it's effects will wear off if you use
it regularly. There are various recommendations on how to use it; I
used the 30c potency night and morning for 3 days before the event
and 1 on the morning itself. Available from any homeopathic pharmacy.

Do-it-yourself Rife is great fun, especially if you like
experimenting. Here's some links to start you off:
  http://www.holman.net/rife/_Poor_Man_s__Rife/_poor_man_s__rife.html
http://www.ourlifehouse.com/html/index.php

you will also find related links from these sites.

have fun

Kuddo on passing the exam!!!!

I must ask.... What is Homeopathic "AAA"? I've never heard of AAA

Love EFT, & Can you direct me to a good do it yourself Rife website. All
I've found were the cost you big bucks devices/ (That I don't have the big
bucks to spare for right this moment)

TIA,
Valerie

1. EFT, of course. Used to clear "big stuff" from the past and also
for day-to-day management.
4. Rifing. After Raymond Rife, the father of frequency therapy.
There's lots of resources on the net that show you how to convert
your pc to a Rife machine (I did it for less than £30). 15 hz is the
kiddie for reducing stress.
5. Homeopathic "AAA", great for 1-off occasions to keep you chilled.
Well that's it, I didn't rely on just 1 approach (I was probably
anxious) and I really can't say which was most effective.
Hope somebody finds something useful in there.

Eifion

Hi Eifion,

and may I say ...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

on passing your exam!!!

WELL DONE!!

:-))

That's a great list you've sent also, really good tips.

And I completely agree that to have an arsenal is much more useful than
a single gun.

There's times when I just don't want to tap and just lie back and be
talked down by a nice hypnosis CD, and other times when the only remedy
is a bath, or I'm getting the Frankincense out.

I guess there's all sorts of different flavours of stress and to have
something for all occasions is a really good job.

Also, a lot of those things that you mentioned are GENERATIVE.

Like, an aspirin or a tranquiliser is NOT generative - they do their
thing, and when they're done, you're right back where you started. No
change.

But with a hypnosis CD or EFT for example, you always have a chance to
do something about the CAUSE of the stress-overreactions, AS WELL AS the
short term relief.

Which is why I like personal development so much.

Very, very COOL, well done!

Champagne greetings,

Silvia

hi everyone,

I've been meaning to post this for a while and now I have the time.
My major stress is now over as I've just taken (and passed !)my final
exam.
So I considered what I'd done to help me get through, and it comes
down to this:
Controlling anxiety

1. EFT, of course. Used to clear "big stuff" from the past and also
for day-to-day management.
2. Running. Cardiovascular exercise is great for burning up those
stress chemicals that were designed to help you run (or fight).
3. Hypnotherapy/relaxation cd's.
6. Stretching. If you like to store stress in your muscles, this is
the way to liberate it.

Well that's it, I didn't rely on just 1 approach (I was probably
anxious) and I really can't say which was most effective.
Hope somebody finds something useful in there.

GOOD JOB, Katie!

:-)

Sounds to me you really know what you're talking about, the mark a true
expert!

Well, if no-one else can do any better <nudge, nudge!> seems you've won
the prize so far.

How about a "dead" line? Aint that a great word?

Alright. Further contributions on this important topic will be accepted
until Friday, midnight 0GMT.

Katie's set the standard ... and a copy of PS awaits!

Hi Silvia,

I'm pretty good at failing at this so thought I'd have a go, here are
my best strategies :)

HOW TO FAIL SUCCESSFULLY AT LEADING A STRESS FREE LIFE.

1. Make sure you pick goals that you don't actually want and remember
to worry endlessly about both achieving and not achieving them.

2. After speaking to someone or sending an email be sure to imagine
the ways they could have misinterpreted it as a terrible insult.

3. Imagine that every person you meet remembers every tiny fault you
could possibly possess, if you don't have enough real faults, invent
a few really hideous ones for good measure.

4. Never deal with any thing when it arises, instead wait until you
have 1001 things to do at the last possible minute.

5. If you have several tasks to tackle always go for the hardest and
scariest first, make sure to have a good preparatory panic for at
least a week beforehand to get properly in the mood.

6. Set ridiculously high standards of perfection for yourself and
never attempt anything unless you can reach them.

7. Absolutely never take time to do things you enjoy, it wastes
valuable time that you could spend stressing!

8. Make sure you never read helpful books or learn EFT, that could
ruin the process totally!

Cheers,
Katie

Laura,

How timely you should mention breathing exercises, I have found deep
breathing to have been of enormous help recently and have just posted
an article on my site about it.

Also, a friend of mine just told me he does mental arithmetic when he
gets overwhelmed. Personally I prefer to do some painting or coding
when I get a bit stressed but the idea is the same.

As Einstein once said, so beautifully, and it's a good thing for all
of us to bear in mind here:

"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used
when we created them."

So I say we get back to creating lists of things we do to relax and
take time out from thinking about our troubles.

Which reminds me, anyone up for Silvia's challenge of how to fail at
leading a stress free life?

Deep breath and relaxing waves to everyone,

Nicola

I was taking Zoloft but recently stopped, so my anxiety has been worse
lately. Are there any ways to control it without medication?

Hi Nicola
Well, I decided to take another 10 Mg of the paraoxide, and it did make
me feel a bit better. It is awful how dependant these pills make you on
them. I have never felt so nervous and paniced as I did this past
week.
I talked to my meds Dr on friday and he called in an RX for timed
released paxil-not the generic. Which I have yet to pick up yet,
because my RX plan hates the "REAL" brand and charges you 50.00 for
them.
My life still feels very much out of control, but I am trying to read
the website you suggested, but It is hard for me to concentrate on
anything too long.
Thanks so much for your reply-it feels good knowing there are others
who understand and sympathize.
Beth

Hello, my name is Marcie. I am 32 years old and live in Michigan.
Although
I've never been officially diagnosed, I believe I do suffer from some form
of social anxiety disorder. I used to think I was just painfully shy, but
I've found that other people get over their shyness much easier than I do.
I
have anxiety attacks regularly and obsessively think about things that are
bothering me (usually related to what I think somebody thinks of me).
Anyway,
that's just the surface. I look forward to getting some advice and support

Thanks.

Marcie

Dear All,

Namaste,

Yesterday I came to know that one of my friends died 3 months ago..and also My
friends mum died a week ago.

There is something that needs to be told from their life and death.

My friends mum died in a strange accident..She was drinking water..and maybe she
gulped it down too fast..resulting it in going to nasal tube in the
throat..blocking her and suffocating her to death..

It must have been a very painful death.

Keeping the aside the shock and the pain of her death I want to say that there
is a message in us for all...Many a times we are so much in rush to move forward
to next moment..that we force the present moment to speed up..doing everything
at the same time..eating too fast..drinking too fast..not realising that our
rush could cost us our life..

Even if we may not lose our life..we lost the precious moments in our life..

I wouldnt want the fate of my friends mum to become of someone else fate..

I wouldnt want anyone die not of illness..but by casual mistake.

Please take very good care of yourself..and of those around You...

Please pass on this thought to your loved ones..however insignificant or small
it might seem to them now..it might make a difference in one life..

**

However sad I might be..or thinking about if it couldve been different..I am not
mourning their deaths. I hope to keep this pause in their life..a reminder for
my life..to do more good, be more good, share more and care for more..

My friend who died few months ago..suffered from a genitical illness..that had
traces of mental illness, physical manifestation.. He didint amounted much to
the world..was often laughted at, ridiculed.. He died a quiet death..disturbing
no one..

Life may have treated him with not enough love and care..but I genuinely hope
that in his journey ahead..May He receive all the Love there is and feel cared
for by God.

I may have never told him but I cared for him..I wasnt his close friend..but I
felt he was, is special in his light.

**

I seriously do not want to depress anyone..the only reason I wanted to share
this is to serve as a gentle reminder of what life is..sometimes we get so used
to life that we breathe not from our nose but from habit of thought...

Usually such things make very sad..and I am sad right now..but I cant mourn
right now as I have things to do at hand..somehow I must find light even in
this..and breathe easy and light.

I would love if You all could join me in prayers and Love to the family and
friends of the departed souls.

Thank You All,

Much Love,

Nachi

Three years ago, some pals and I wrote a set of instructions on "How To
Fail Successfully" at things such as plastering, earning a living as a
life coach, learning to play the guitar, losing weight and creating and
maintaining loving relationships.

I figured that we had TREMENDOUS experience on these topics and that
wisdom comes from experiences shared, and I was right as the resulting
strategies proved.

They are HILARIOUS if not rather close to home and can be found on

http://silviahartmann.com/satire-failing-made-easy.php

Here's my challenge.

How do YOU fail successfully at having a stress free life?

I figure we are the world experts at this topic right here on this list, and
some excellent failure success strategies would be discovered.

And to make it into a proper challenge, I'm going to give away a FREE copy of
Project Sanctuary ($35 worth) to the best list of bullet point instructions, so
others can learn too ...

HOW TO FAIL SUCCESSFULLY AT LEADING A STRESS FREE LIFE.

Mail back to the list so we can all learn something, or mail offlist directly to
me starfields@... if you're a bit shy,

Looking forward to learning something NEW!

"You can never never plan the future by the past."

The fact is that the past has been, and gone. Every Now is different, it
is NEW.

If we don't experience it as NEW, then there is something wrong with our
perception of REALITY.

And as remarkable as this may seem, it is a simple FACT - of life.

Nice one,

Hi Beth,

And welcome to the group, glad you made your way here.

I have no experience with taking medication for my anxiety but I know
a lot of people here do and have managed to get off them so take heart.

The first stop is an excellent article on anxiety which really can
give you, quite literally, some breathing space and allow you to at
least maintain your level of meds for the time being.

http://sidereus.org/main/article.php?sid=172

I've been having a few problems myself recently and hope that in
their resolution I will be able to pass on some useful tips and
techniques to everyone here.

Back to the research and testing!

Soothing, relaxing waves,

Nicola

Hi everyone, I am new to this board. I took a stab in the dark that
there would even be such a board, and I am happy that there is.
Last year I started seeing a therapist just to have someone to talk
to. I told her I didnt want meds, I only needed somone to talk to. It
seems that in my life I attract needy people, who are only interested
in talking, not listening. So thats why I thought a therapist was
ideal.
Immediately she suggested I go on Meds because she got the feeling
that I was too nervous to work on my "issues". Blah blah blah
Now I am on Paroxetine 30mg(gen equiv of paxil). I keep having to up
my doseage. I get some relief from it and then I feel like the I have
to up the doseonce again. Needless to say I dont see the therapist,
becuase I felt like she wasn't a very understanding therapist, she
was a little judgemental. So I stopped seeing her.
I am having more trouble now than I ever did before the meds. I am in
a very stressful time now, we are moving, and I am really having
financial troubles. I just dont know how I'm going to do it all. I
feel like I have ADD. I can't focus, I can't remember things I used
to know right away, I make the stupiest mistakes, and I just don't
know what to do. I called my meds dr and he hasn't returned my calls
for two days.
I really need some advice on living Med free. I would love to find
some techniques to calm myself down in a situation, and not to be
dependant on medication for ever! Does anyone know of these types of
techniques? if so, i would apreciate any advice you could give
thank so much in advance

Hi all,

I was just working with some stuff when I came across an old pattern,
The Melville Pattern, and I remembered how useful and fun that was.

There is a simple application of it which can really be useful to
change state, and change the direction of thought, as well as offering
a good opportunity to break out of "thought loops" if you remember to
do it.

All you do when you are in a situation that you dislike, or you are
dealing with a person or object you are having trouble with, is to ask
yourself what this current thing IS NOT.

For example, being stuck in a traffic jam in the hot summer without
air conditioning is not ...

... being on a beach with fresh winds and cooling sand and water,
bubbling lightly and sprightly, cool and fresh around your toes ...

It causes an instant internal, aaaahhhh ... response of relaxation
because as you're thinking of something pleasant, your body follows suit.

People are as far as I know the only creatures on this planet who can
think about something THAT IS NOT PRESENT AT ALL and experience
physiological changes as a direct result.

In a way, this pattern is the same as thinking about something really
terrifying and freaking yourself out - even though you're safe at home
and in bed!

If you can do that one, you have ALL THE SKILLS necessary to run that
pattern the other way around.

Its fascinating, stress releasing and a mental flexibility skill that
is very useful.

It could even be used for goal setting and future shaping if used
repeatedly - what this current car of mine isn't, is actually a
beautifully sleek Ferrari ...

Pleasure at the thought PLUS possible future creation?

Sounds good.

Try it.

Cheers,

Silvia
