What is EFT? I have had panic attacks/anxiety for seven years. I am able to
work and take medication, but I still struggle. I want anything to get help.
Thanks.

Hi Tanya,
I hope you will you take this opportunity to make real changes in
your life because that is what is required of you now.
Unless you are willing to change, and that goes for everyone else
here with panic attacks, you may just as well settle for using coping
strategies, finding what works for you and living your life around
the panics, looking for the next supplement or remedy that, according
to the latest research, is responsible for the body's imbalances.
Our bodies are amazingly resilient. Of course adrenal exhaustion will
be indicated in someone who is having panic attacks, it can't not,
but reduce the stress and anxiety and the body quite quickly returns
to normal. Allergies respond particularly well to this which is why
EFT works so beautifully on them, antihistamines may reduce the
allergic reaction but once the stress is removed in most cases they
just stop.
A person needs to be removed from the burning building before
treating their wounds, it would be madness not to.
As Silvia said panic attacks are a reset device, a very valuable time
out and a time to reassess working practices to prevent it happening
again.
When your computer blue screens there is SOMETHING DRASTICALLY WRONG.
Everything seems perfect;y normal prior to the crash, it seems to
come out of nowhere and in fact you may even have been writing your
best article to date when it occurs so it seems more of a shock,
things were going so well, but the clues will have been there, system
running a little slower than normal, you ignored a couple of fatal
errors a while ago, applications have been shutting down
inexplicably, your anti virus software hasn't been updated recently.
I thought my life was perfect when I started having panics and
thought if I could just get rid of them and get back to normal
everything would be ok. How wrong I was.
The trouble is the panic attack gets tied in with the event that was
happening at the time and avoidance behaviour begins and then you get
ever decreasing circles, at one point I didn't even feel safe in bed,
and in the example above it would be easy to tie in a computer crash
with writing articles, I'm safe if I don't do that ever again. That's
a very slippery slope to go down.
Claire Weeks talks about leaning into the fear, going with the
panics, and while that is good advice if we could do that we wouldn't
be having panic attacks in the first place because we would not be
scared of them, ergo they would not be happening. So what she says is
perfectly sound, namely second fear is the problem, but she does not
tell you HOW to do it.
EFT is how to do it and is why this list was started because of the
way it completely cured me of my anxiety and panic attacks.
First let's get out of the burning building using EFT and then we can
assess the situation more clearly and see what needs to be done,
whether it's relocation or rebuilding more carefully and in a way
more suited to us.
Soothing, relaxing waves,
Nicola
