Silvia, thanks so much for your help and welcome, and
Sundee, I had a date scribbled in my diary for the
Bleep movie but then all the dramas with work consumed
my time and I dont know if it's still running in
Melbourne - I've been told it's well worth seeing.
Thanks Mo for the adrenal link and the phone number
Lisa.
I'm currently looking for work and I dont know how
well I'll hold a job now, have to seriously look at
working roles etc. I dont know about everyone else,
but I've been having good and bad days and I'm not
sure if this is how it will be long-term or if it is a
phase I'm going through, I'm also seeking out some
sort of cognitive therapy assistance but it's real
hard to find anywhere at the moment as psychologists
charge anywhere around $120/hr and I'm very broke at
the moment.
Claire Week's book is in my post box, so I'll get
started on that and then post to the group again for a
discussion.
Thanks again everyone, I hope you're all doing well.
Kind regards
Tanya

Hi everyone, My name is Tanya >>>
Hi Tanya, and welcome here.
I enjoyed your comment about the intellectual
abilities of highly
stressed people - I'd say if you put everyone's IQ on
this list end on
end, it would stretch from here to Sirius with some
ease :-)
My name is Silvia, and I'm Nicola's co-conspirator for
the want of a
better word.
What we do and how we do it here is somewhat different
from other
approaches to not just anxiety, but living in general
you might find
elsewhere.
An explanation of what we're about can be found in a
free book here:
http://starfields.org/The_Enchanted_World.htm
... which is a very de-stressing read, I find :-)
Also, there is a basic introduction to how we deal
with stress at the
base level (also free) here:
http://sidereus.org/main/article.php?sid=172
This one contains some explanations as to how we get
to be "stress
stupid" and how to stop.
On the one hand I'm sorry to hear that you lost your
job; on the other
hand I can't help but feel there's a real and true
opportunity here to
sort some things out, to do things differently, and
when you get back to
that sort of thing, it will be a VERY different
experience indeed.
Nicola and I always say that a panic attack (just like
a migraine and
other things) is a kind of re-start device; a form of
"blue screening"
when the systems have become dangerously unstable. It
is there to stop
things from getting worse and even more serious damage
ensuing.
But it also shows how bad things have gotten before it
happened; it is a
serious warning, that's why they are so powerful and
undeniable.
Its a real shame that there isn't more understanding
of how it works and
tranquilisers are no answer, not for the long term.
Well, be welcome on this bright stormy morning.
Onward and upward,
Silvia :-)
