This is very interesting to me because I recently realised that I create
drama in my life. To make me feel more alive? And it is a kind of
addiction. >>>>
Well I think this comes from the fact that people who are easily
stressed also have a tendency to be highly disassociated - they try to
cut themselves off from their feelings, they're scared of the violence
of their own feelings.
So they numb out in various ways.
So now they don't feel much anymore - only the really high end dam
buster type emotions, and of course, a shot of adrenaline works like
speed/amphetamines and INCREASES sensitivity all around.
I think that people who have literally lived with super high doses of
adrenalin running round their systems for years have to do a double
thing - one is to reduce the amount of adrenaline, but the other is to
learn to re-associate into experiences again, even if it is just eating
a piece of fruit or something.
I also think that this pattern of disassociation/forced experiences is
the same as one finds in self mutilation. There, physical pain is
induced to "cut through" that disassociation and to be able to feel
something real again.
