Stop Restriction on Nutritional Advice-in New Jersey-Contact Legisla   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #337 of 606 |
A bill has been introduced in the New Jersey State Legislature that
restricts the Dissemination of Nutritional Advice to those who are Registered
Dieticians (RD).
Registered Dieticians have almost no training in the functional properties
of nutritional elements necessity to proper health. And what little they are
given is limited and usually incomplete at best. The bill will be voted on
Thursday September 25,2008.
The bill in the Assembly is A.2933, Registered Dietician Licensure Act, in
the State Senate it is S.1941. The bill, advertised as a mere licensure bill,
actually enforces a monopoly of all nutritional advice to a small group of
insufficiently educated personnel who are usually assigned to oversee the
preparation of food in hospitals, schools, prisons and other institutions that
have become famous for serving nutrient deficient meals. The American Dietetic
Association receives huge financial support from McDonalds, Pepsico, Wendy's
and Taco Bell. These are not known for the healthy nutrition needed to keep
one healthy, much less combat disease. Indeed this bill is being pushed by the
Food Industry, the pharmaceutical and orthodox medical industries who thrive
on lack of nutrition in most patients.
The bill will make it a criminal offense for Medical Doctors and
Nutritionists and who received a PhD in nutrition from giving advice or
talking in
public about the proper role of food. This is in violation of Supreme Court
decisions affirming this right.
