Hi Everybody:
This is just an advisory for everyone in Alpine Co. SAR.
Jeanne Horton is a SAR Volunteer in EDSO SAR. on 6/30/08 at 7.30:pm
She was shocked by 20,000 volts when a mobile repeater antenna was
being setup by other Volunteers on a sar, and the antenna made
contact with a HIGH voltage wire. Jeanne was just touching the
opposite side of the SAR truck. When the antenna touched the wire
and the high voltage shocked her and Stopped her heart, and she had
to be resussitated by cpr.
She susstained 2nd degree burns on her left hand at the point of
entry, and Third degree burns on her left foot at the point of
exit.
Here is an update on how Jeanne is doing as of 4:pm friday.
Overall she is doing sort of OK, Physically she is not in a lot of
pain, only moderate at this time and she is dealing with it fairly
well, with a slight fever. Jeanne is a Physicians assistant by day
so she knows all to well the challenge's she faces. (SAR Junky all
the rest of the time).
However she has alot of mood swings into depression about why this
happened to Her. And then about how she will be able to walk or live
with some of the damage. (any sort of depression is not at all
normal for her).
Her thoughts of bills pilling up are being calmed by help from ESARC
and the County, for now.Thank you esarc.
She has had afew visitors which was great for her well being. And
wanted me to express her appreciation to all who came by.
Her own Family calls her alot which is very comforting to her.
So Mostly she needs moral support from her SAR Family, Via phone
calls. When you have a minute. Please call her, it takes her mind
off of the bad stuff and the boredom.
for now she is out of icu/burn unit, until Surgery on Monday 4/7/08
when she goes back to the icu/burn.
Her ph # is 916-703-8347 for now...
From me: Thanks for all you do and your support of a Friend and
Loved one.
