Hi all;
I am on the above diet along with a couple of other things forbidden (cottonseed
oil and cashews). Though i'd love to buy all my food at the healthfood stores, i
have limited funds (on disability). I discovered a good alternative for foods
that have no ingredients (which you usually have to pay much extra fot). Dollar
Stores. We have several of the them around here. Dollar General i find to be
the best. Yes, they are loaded with cookies and such, but for those of you who
would like a non-cheat treat they can have safe potato chips, a candy bar
(peanut block) and condiments which can make for a much more varied diet even
kids will like.
For instance, i bought a beef and broccoli sauce mix at the grocery store (safe)
but it called for soy sauce. I substituted the steak sauce which i got from
Dollar General for a dollar for the soy sauce. It was delicious and probably
the most satisfying thing i've had in months.
Take a look at such stores. The may very well have foods that you don't have to
pay extra to be without forbidden ingredients.
Hope this helps. janet
