Greetings all,

Not sure where to begin, but I'm in need of information and support
regarding my allergies.

I have had allergies and allergy/seasonal related asthma since I was a
teenager - I'm 28 now. I had had allergy symptoms for a number of
years that went undiagnosed until last summer when I was given a skin
patch test. In short, of the 47 or so allergens given to me I came
back positive on 38 (I wasn't positive on a whole 8 or so molds). No,
I'm not kidding, all the animals, trees, weeds, grass etc., + a food
allergy to cherries, and tree nuts (everything but peanuts which I've
never had a problem with). Suffice it to say, I'm on 3 allergy meds,
singular, allegra D, advair, Albuterol, and benedryl as needed. I have
never had anaphalaxis, but this past week, 5 or 6 hours after my
immunotherapy shots (I get three a week), I had a bad reaction. I've
had reactions before on this treatment, but these last two weeks I've
had specific problems. Namely, the mix dosage of ragweed and weed
pollen I had been given caused a 7 or 8 inch welt on my arm that
lasted for 2 days, I notified my doctor and we halved the dosage. This
last Tuesday I got my shot, with all three with the adjusted ragweed,
and my top dose of tree. 6 hours later (when the benedryl wore off as
work no less), I had to drive myself to urgent care. My oxygen levels
were fine, but I didn't feel fine at all. I took the day off today
just to rest and look up a few things.

So, that's my backstory. There are a few things I'm looking for
information on:

1. I can't find any articles or research related to people with an
extreme number of allergies.

2. I am sensitive to heat, and it seems to bring on some sort of
dermatitis that feels really hot and painful. Any ideas? Does anyone
feel their allergies improve when they're in a cool air environment in
summer?

3. I and probably my doctor, have no real idea why after receiving the
same dosage of shot I would suddenly have a heavy reaction like I did
yesterday. Has anyone else experienced this?

4. Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to deal with allergies?

Thus far the meds are working well. And, I'm not interested in any
alternative homeopathic or herbal remedies though I do believe they
can be very useful. Many or any of such remedies including nettle,
chamomile and several other herbs are one's I'm allergic to and don't
want to risk a reaction with.

Thoughts, articles, ideas?
Thank you for your time,
-Pod A newbie
