Polyurethane   Message List

Hello folks.

I just joined. I have had severe asthma since an accident in
November 2003 when I was exposed to carbon monoxide, polyurethane,
paint fumes and some other chemicals.

We just moved into a place with a polyurethane floor. I am having
more symptoms than in the last place I was in. I suspect the
polyurethane was put down incorrectly and is interacting with some
other wood polish or varnish or whatever.

I would like to seal the polyurethane gas from escaping and was
wondering what thoughts some of you might have.

Of course, moving is the obvious answer, but we have no financial
resources to do so.

Stripping the floor, it seems, would just put the polyurethane from
the sanding all over the apartment.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you for your time.

Jon
