3. Relief after chemical exposure

<a HREF="http://wwRelief after Chemical Exposures

This posting is a letter from Ron Braithwaite, CNIN
(Canadian Neurotoxicity Information Network URL:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/cnin/
) It was originally posted on a discussion group.

As in all ideas and products, YMMV - "your mileage
may vary." What is safe for one person may not
be safe for another. Although these ideas have been
helpful for others with MCS/EI, the product may not
be safe for you. Use caution when trying any new
product or idea.

Ron gave me permission to post his letter stating,
Please feel free to share the letter on SHARE-FAQ.
I think the more people who know about this stuff
the better. It's amazing all the health info I
found that has helped others, in my search to find
out anything that would help me with my
neurotoxicity symptoms. My wife suffered for over
6 years with terrible migraines. The doctors had
her on this Dr. Jeckle Mr. Hyde medication that
gave her many unwanted and terrible side effects.
After the third time she took this natural mix of
vitamins minerals and food, she no longer had any
migraines, and has been free of them ever since.
She was on the doctor's medication for over 5 years
with no improvements in its frequency. I was so
happy I was able to help her... it's terrible to
see someone you love suffer
so much. Ron Braithwaite, CNIN"

Just thought I'd share a few things that helped
me with certain health problems related to my
chemical exposures.

1. Parsley Tea - This is a wonderful drink when
you have an upset stomach or stomach ache. No
longer a garnish, it soothes the tummy and takes the
pain away. It cleared up my irritable bowel syndrome,
and my acid reflux disease. We grow parsley in our
garden, and just a small sprig of it with some hot
water will work wonders.

2. Milk Thistle - One of the best liver detoxifiers
known. It actually helps repair damaged liver tissue
damaged from the toxins. The liver can rebuild itself,
and is the only organ in the human body that can do this.

3. Garlic Tablets - I use organically grown 'Kyolic'
aged garlic extract. Garlic is one of nature's best
natural antibiotics. Garlic also helps detoxify,
and the Kyolic has no nasty breath afterwards.

4. Window Fans - We use mechanical fans in our
windows that run 24-7.Indoor air pollution can
be 10 times greater than the outdoor air.

5. Vitamin E - A great antioxidant that helps
destroy the free radicals created by toxic chemicals.
Vitamin E is excellent for the lungs, and will aid in
repair to lung tissue. Vitamin E also is great if
you have a cold sore on your mouth. Break open a
capsule, and put it directly on the cold sore...
in a day or two it will be gone. Do not take high
does of Vitamin A. It can be toxic to the liver
if taken in high quantities for 2-3 months.
I take it once every 3-4 days.

6. Vitamin C - from Rose Hips. Vitamin C is
another great antioxidant. Our bodies can only
absorb Vitamin C for about 4 hours, and the rest
is passed, so if you don't take a 'time released',
you should take it 2-3 times a day.

7. Remove all carpet - carpet is a reservoir
for many pollutants and mold. New carpet emit
dozens of neurotoxic chemicals... some carpets
for years afterwards.

8. Spend the majority of your time upstairs,
out of the basement, unless you ventilate with
fans. Most toxic chemicals vapors are heavier
than an air molecule. Some are up to 10 times
heavier. They concentrate at the floor level
and many travel seeking out the lowest area in
the house.

9. Avoid MSG! Read all the labels of food
products you buy. Almost all processed/canned
soups contain MSG.

10. Avoid artificial sweeteners! If you must
sweeten, use sugar sparingly, or use Stevia....
a natural sweetener. Artificial sweeteners are
particularly dangerous in diet soft drinks and
hot drinks like coffee and tea. The chemicals
in these products metabolize to wood alcohol in the
human body.

11. Evening Primrose Oil - The healthy unsaturated
fatty acid. Our bodies need this unsaturated fatty
acid for a properly functioning immune system.
Avoid the saturated fatty acids that are harmful.

12. If anyone is suffering from migraines, - I
may be able to help. I cured my wife's migraines
she had for almost 6 years. The Migraine Society
of Canada did not want to hear this information ...
but then again, they get their funding from the
pharmaceutical companies that treat, (not cure) the
migraines. There's no money in cures....but there
is lots of money in treatments.

13. Buy 'Prescription for Nutritional Healing' -
An excellent a-z reference to drug-free remedies
using vitamins, minerals, herbs, and food supplements.
The cost is approximately $25-30 at most book stores.

14. Do not drink city water.

15. Avoid anti-perspirants as long as you can
(most contain aluminum).

16. If you get a headache when you go to town,
take something before you go to town to try to
avoid the headache. I used to get headaches on
every trip to town, (more than likely from the
diesel and auto exhaust), until one day
someone asked me if anything worked to take the
headache away. Ibuprofen works almost every
time for my headaches, so I take 2 Advil BEFORE
I leave to town. No more headaches from my trip.

17. Tender or painful breasts? - I read a study
one day that had a success rate of over 85% with
the women in the study. These women, (like my wife),
suffered from painful tender breasts during their
monthly cycle. In this study, the women avoided
drinking coffee, and the pain in their breasts went
away. I thought, "It can't be that easy,.. can it?"
Donna, (my wife), tried it, and sure enough, that's
all it was. I found out later that coffee is often
processed with solvents, and contains other
impurities as well... so it's not necessarily
the caffeine that was causing it.

I hope this helps some of you as much as it did
me and my wife....

Take care....

Sincerely,

Ron Braithwaite, CNIN
