Hi Michelle
I'm Maria, from London.
To be hounest with you i'm not sure what kind of group
this is either, I think it's a support group that
hasn't really got going yet - which is a shame. There
are other yahoo groups though - SOS Women is a good
one, but abstinence based.
I've had serious alcahol problems in the past and now
drink socially (although sometimes a bit more than i
should)but it's much, much better than it used to be.
What helped me was going to psychotherapy, which I am
still doing, because like you i was depressed and my
drinking was a symptom of that depression.
Dealing with the underlying pain has helped me to stop
being obsessed with alcahol.
I still have a way to go, but there is a huge
improvement in my state of mind & in my life.
I hope this helps a bit, if you want to ask anything,
or just chat, please mail again.
Good luck and best wishes
Maria
