In my imagination, I can picture myself hiking right alongside you. Then I
remember that hiking down my stairs is a major expedition for me.

That would be a good goal for me to pursue, building up my stamina so that
I could go on a hike. I probably wouldn't reach the goal this summer, but
maybe by next year. At least it's worth pursuing.
