I have not been diagnosed with MS, but have had many signs and
symptoms for years. I have been to many doctors, been put on all kinds of
medication, (anti-depressants, anxiety meds, vioxx, etc.)they all made me feel
worse. Needless to say, I stopped taking the meds and stopped going to the
doctor.
Over the past three years my symptoms have become worse and I think
the reason for it is food allergies or food sensitivity to additives.
I broke out in hives for six weeks after eating a bowl of Edy's
Snicker Ice Cream, first time I had ever eaten that brand, but I was
having allergy symptoms a few days before this, ears burning and back
of head itching, just didn't realize because had never had an allergic reaction
to food. After this first reaction everything went downhill, within a month I
could hardly walk, had the same symptoms I had before the allergic reaction it
was just 500 times worst. It took about a year to figure out what I could and
couldn't eat, since my reactions were delayed, and what symptoms were brought on
by individual foods. My symptoms have stayed constant with some foods but just
like MS it has a mind of its own, something I could eat last week without any
symptoms I can't eat today.
I know you are probably thinking I just have food allergies, believe
me I wish that were so. Here are a list of my symptoms and the foods
that make them worst I would love some feed back from the experts
living with MS.
Symptom Food
Joint Pain & Swelling-Feet and Hands worst All meat (chicken worst)
can hardly walk or brush my hair. had before allergy
Brain Fog (thought I was going crazy) All meat (chicken worst)
Blurred vision & black spots Started long before food
allergy but allergy makes
vision worst.
Muscles ache from head to toe
(sore to the touch, like I have worked out) All meat makes it worst.
Fatique (have learned to control this by eight
hrs sleep, never overdoing it and no stress) Always had
Insomnia (mind is in overdrive, body is tired) Never had, food allergy
Weird Headaches- I have always had headaches usually Don't believe
behind my eyes, and there have been times this is caused
when the back of my head has gone numb but by food allergy
for the past two months I have woke up with
my head numb and a dule pain in the center of
the numbness, it is really a weird feeling.
Numbness around my eyes, this comes with the headache Same as above
sometimes, but started about a year ago.
Numbness from my elbows to my wrist & from my knees to All meat makes
my anckles, this usually comes with the joint it worst
pain.
Skin turns red and feels like I have a sunburn Fruit
Heat sensitive - Pass out or feel like it. Always had,
(hot shower can bring this on) Fruit & Meat worst
Toes get round puffy areas on the top of them. Not caused by allergy
Ears swell inside and get a burning sensation. Food Allergy
Weired noises in ears (usually get this when I Always had
am light headed or over heated.)
Memory Loss- Has gotten worst with weird headaches ???
Can't remember simple things, like how
to spell a common word, couldn't
remember my grandson's name.
Have a few more symptoms that are constant but I will stop here. Please let me
know if you think I'm crazy or if this could be MS.
