I completely understand your skepticism about drugs; with them, the entire
concern is about money! However, I have to say that my personal
experience has to throw huge credit to drugs!
After several years of annoying but manageable symptoms, I went into a
dramatic, terrifying and rapid decline that left me in a wheelchair and
pretty totally dependent on others for basic care. After an intensive and long
term chemo and steroid treatment protocol, I have my life back. I walk pretty
well with a cane, take care of myself, drive again and work full time. I
presently take lots of meds, including Copaxone (which is so easy that I'd
recommend it highly) and handfuls of immuno-suppressant pills every day. Things
aren't perfect, but I'd go through the same fairly difficult treatment again if
I needed to.
