I have a question about steroid use. I was diagnosed 10 years ago at the
ripe old age of 24. Since then I have received intravenous prednisone
steroid treatment on average about once a year. They give me a great boost
and set me up for the next year. I read all the time that neurologists
recommend not using steroids as a long-term treatment. Does anyone know
what one uses instead and when it's considered long-term usage? I can't
tolerate the ABC drugs and steroids have been my only real saviour for a
good quality of life for me. I worry about their side effects but at this
stage they are better than the MS.
Thanks, Kiwi Karen
