Well, I'm 50 and was diagnosed in 1974. I have R/R and when I had major
issues, like long term symptoms, I was put on a Solumedrol IV treatment with
an oral taper afterwards. I don't know if that is done much now, but it is
not without it's own problems. My veins are now "chemotherapy" veins. The
veins blow and spasm and I have blood drawn through butterfly needles when I
have to have it done. Would I do anything any different, knowing that,
probably not, but it is still good info to know.
I took Betaseron when it first came out, but had injection site problems.
When Avonex came out I was switched to that with no problems.
My first baby was before I knew I had MS and the second was after, but
before any of the injectables. (Or anything else really.....) My
understanding was that pregnancy was not advised with any of the
injectables, but I may be wrong. I am having grandkids now, so that is not
really an area I keep up with. :)
Hope that helps.....
