This group is a place where people who have suffered as a result of a transference relationship can come to find support and friendship. Anyone who has ever felt that they have been in love with a therapist, psychiatrist, counselor, minister, pastor, teacher, case worker, doctor, surgeon, or the like, you are not alone. Many of us develop deep feelings for authority figures in our life called transference, and in turn we feel we are in love with them. Transference can occur in a variety of forms, that is why there are so many different relationships in which it can happen. This is a group for people suffering from the heartbreak of disillusionment that occurs in a transference relationship. Those of us dealing with such a diffucult issue often need a place to vent. That is what this group is for. This group is not anti-therapy or pro-therapy. We are anti-abuse, pro-survivor and support for all no matter what your situation. We ask that as a member you respect the differences of opinions on this forum, as there can be polarizing viewpoints in this topical discussion. The moderators cannot, and do not claim to be able to, make everyone happy all the time. We will try our best but we are only human like you.
DISCLAIMER -- THIS GROUP IS RUN BY SURVIVORS OF TRANSFERENCE NOT THERAPISTS, WE CANNOT PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL HELP.
