Dear Anastasia and Julie,
God, sometimes I am having the worst and most lonely day and then I read an
email to remind me we are not alone! I completely relate to how you feel.
Sean's treatment plan was quite different from what I believe is the current
expected protocal (3 rounds of chemo, stem cell transplant and then three rounds
of high dose chemo with transplant back, then followed by 6 weeks of 3-D
Conformal radiation to the brain only).
He is pretty profoundly disabled at this point (gtube fed, nonverbal,
visually impaired, nonambulatory) that I often feel like the families out there
who
have kids who survived cancer (even brain tumors) don't really relate to what
we are dealing with...I think at the end of the day I have to find some kind of
Traumatic Brain Injury clinic because the issues Sean faces are really as a
result of that...
I am praying for your family and more specifically for a little peace for
you. Suffice it to say that I understand and relate.
Sean's MRI is tomorrow...here is to another sleepless night and hope for good
news!
Regards,
Danielle McCauley
Mom of Sean and Connor
Sean was born 1/11/00 - dx 11/29/00 - MRI tomorrow...
