Some times it seems I struggle even to get other AS people to understand
that I am not inherently a social person. I need frequently to withraw from
human contact to recover from it. I really don't want any more social skills
than the minimum necessary to keep me out of trouble with the authorities
and to maintain the working relationships I need to.

For what it's worth, I'm having similar difficulties with an AS person on
another list. I prefer to stay at home--if I had the means to do so, I would
most likely never leave my home. This does not mean I'm disturbed or in need of
therapy. I do it so I don't end up in therapy.
