My wife and I were married two years and 3 months ago. She was 34 and
I was 36. We wanted to have a family and started trying immediately
after our wedding. We had two miscarriages, and then we finally had
the perfect pregnancy, or so we thought at the time. All of our
regular check ups were perfect until the 34th week. At week 34 the
doctor sent us to the hospital because she thought we were having
early contractions. We were admitted and sent to ultrasound were we
found out that we had low amnio fluid. This was the first sign of
trouble. The doctors chose to deliver early by c-section. The baby
immediately had trouble breathing and was sent to NICU where he had
every possible intervention. The next morning I was informed that he
had "Very" enlarged kidneys and very small lungs. Not good! Then I
was told that our son has ARPKD. "AR-What?" Our beautiful boy was on
every machine invented, until after many consultations with
Nefrologists from around the country, I decided to remove the life
support and let him pass in peace.

Thomas Lawrence Jay lived five days. He passed away 3 months ago
today. Since then, we have become semi experts in the field of
genetics, and have decided to try again. We will never give up! We
will probably go natural, and have CVS testing at around the 10th week.

Any ladies out there have advice for my wife? How has this worked for
you all? Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hello there,
Yes, I think it is set for them to give me an explanation of why they
want to join the group because they have all done this. :)

I have emailed you privately, I would love to write an article about
the arpkd loss parents group!

Congratulations!  Great job Jessie, thank you for doing this.  If you haven’t considered this, you may want to require a one to several sentence explanation for why someone would like to join, before allowing them to join.  This can help weed out those you don’t want.

I am currently putting together the Nov/Dec hardcopy ARPKD/CHF Alliance newsletter.  Would you consider writing an article about this group?  The only catch is I need all copy by Friday, Nov. 16th.  Please email privately if interested.  This newsletter keeps growing and should be quite interesting.  If anyone here is not a member of the ARPKD/CHF Alliance and would like to be, please send me your contact information privately.  Membership is free and includes monthly newsletters/updates  (here is our site: www.arpkdchf.org).   Just in case anyone is not aware, besides partnering with the NIH for the largest study to date for this disease, we have launched a Research Grant Program.

Best wishes,

Colleen

Morning all!

Okay, I will start setting up the new group under the name ARPKDLOSS
Parents. I think it is a good idea to have a few moderators so I
will have myself, Shannon & Benedicte (thanks Benedicte!!!).

Hopefully I will be able to get to this before the weekend is up!

We are all fine, just getting ready for another deployment. My
husband is currently at desert training & then its off to
the "sandbox" on December 4th. Everett is taking this one much
harder than before so were doing a lot of "feelings" talks. :)

I am happy about getting a new board up and running because I know we
all like to keep in touch and make this a community where we can
share and support each other!

Hi all!

Just wanted to let you know that the new ARPKD Loss group is set up
now. I have to approve you all for membership, so just hop on over to
ARPKDLOSS Parents at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/arpkdlossparents
and apply.

I have set it so I have to approve everyone who wants to join. I also
cant set up Shannon & Benedicte as moderators until they have joined.

I did not set it so each message needs to be approved because I figued
if we are approving all the members we don't need to scan the messages.

Alright - have a wonderful Saturday & join the new group!!! :)

Blessing,

Wow - I didn't realize your husband was in the
service. I pray for a safe trip for him and that you
and Everett are safe at home. How long will he be
gone? It must be so hard - especially just before the
holidays.
Thanks for doing all this for the group.

Hi everyone,

The new name sounds fine. It just has to be easy to locate for those who need it.
If you need another moderator, I wouldn’t mind doing it. But it looks like there are quite a few already!

I hope everyone is fine. The list has been fairly quiet recently. It’s always good when there are no new members, though.
Things are fine our side : Tristan is coping quite well with his chemo, and there are only 5 weeks to go before we stop chemo for good. I’m looking forward to this as well as fearing the absence of protection. We’re focusing on having a good everyday life and keeping a balance. Tristan is a happy little fellow, but can be quite a handful at times!

Hoping to hear from others on the list- or is everyone waiting for the new list?
Best regards

I would be happy to - or Colleen - do you feel like
you should - given your position with the Alliance?
I think it is a great idea to have more than one so
something like this doesn't happen in the future.

Jessie - can you name it ARPKDLOSS Parents - so it is
similar to the other name? Any other suggestions?

thanks for taking this on...

Alright, I too think this is the best/only option at this time. We
need to keep this group active so we can be in touch to support each
other...without these bizare spammers logging on.

Okay, I will be a moderator...who else would like to do this? I will
get things all set up with a new group here on Yahoo but I agree with
Shannon we def need more than one person that way this sort of
invasion doesn't happen again.

Once we get a few people on board I will set up the new group and
then send everyone from this listserv an invite...(every valid
person, that is...no spammers allowed!) :)

SO.....who would like to join me in moderator status? ? ? anyone,
anyone??? (Bueller....Ferris Bueller...)

Have a wonderful week!!!
Blessings,

Hi Ladies,

I’ve called and left messages several times, and mailed a letter.  IF this is the correct contact information, there has been no response.

This group needs to weigh in and decide what they would like to do.  I would be happy to set up a new group, I’ve done this before and with prior knowledge, it doesn’t take long.  But, I would prefer not to moderator.  My suggestion would be to have two moderators.

Calling for input.

Colleen

No, she has not been located to my knowledge. I think
we do need to set up a new group and we would all have
to rejoin. I think that maybe more than one person
needs to be named as a moderator, if that is possible,
so we don't run into problems again. This group used
to be private - I'm not sure what went wrong. I would
be happy to be a moderator too - or maybe Colleen (if
she is willing) since she is unrelated to this group
not having lost a child to arpkd? Does anyone have
any thoughts?

Has anyone been able to get ahold of the moderator for this group?

If not, I can set up a new group that is private for all of us....Im
sure there is a setting where we would have to approve someone to
join rather than the set up now where anyone can join/post/solicit,
etc.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Most experienced traders consider that the best and
most profitable of the capital markets is without
doubt the Forex market. During many years Forex
trading had been not for everyone but the sole domain
of the major banks, large financial institutions and
countries central banks; for example the U.S. Federal
Reserve Bank. Fortunately these days, thanks to the
internet the market has been opened to anyone willing
to learn the appropriate techniques in forex trading
and with the intention of making substantial profits
using the same pathway the large institutions use to
consistently make pretty high profits from trading in
the Foreign Exchange market.

The Forex markets are open 24-hrs a day during most of
the week, allowing forex traders a huge flexibility to
enter end exit their trades. As long as the markets
keep open the prices will be constantly fluctuating
and reacting to news and market conditions. All this
activity can be easily seen by looking at the forex
charts. And is thanks to this fluctuations that
traders can have the potential of profitable trades
the whole day.

Learning to trade takes much longer than most of us
would like. How would you like to take a shortcut and
graduate early from the school of hard knocks?

When I ask the question that way, almost everyone is
ready to learn to do that. The problem is that when I
tell you whats required, youll find a reason why it
wont work for you.

Forex trading, or foreign exchange, is a market in
which currency is changed from one type to the next in
the hopes of making money off the trade. In fact,
forex is the worlds largest market because of just how
much money can change hands here. Who can do it? How
can you get in? And, can you really make a good sized
investment off of this type of trading? It almost
seems to simple, doesnt it? But, the bottom line is
that through forex trading, you can make a good sized
fortune. Youll still need experience, education and a
little luck but maybe not as much.
