This group is primarily intended for patients, caregivers, and physicians to foster discussions and share experiences related to APS. APLA are antibodies directed against certain phospholipids. Antiphospholipid syndrome is defined as the presence of antiphospholipid antibodies, arterial or venous thrombosis, recurrent spontaneous abortions, and thrombocytopenia. The syndrome can occur within the context of several diseases, mainly autoimmune, or it may be present without any recognizable disease, the so-called primary antiphospholipid syndrome.
The name APS- Syndrome is an email distribution list designed to exchange information and advice about the symptoms are specifically characteristic of APS-SYNDROME. Individual posts to the list are not publicly archived and cannot be accessed by way of a website or search engine. Patients find themselves in situations they never expected. APS-Syndrome is a gathering place where people who have been diagnosed with APS can help others find their way.
