Re: To the choking games:/text of the book "l'ile du roi   Message List
Reply Message #71 of 184 |

The more terrible is that Gaspar,8,died on the 7th of june 2005 in the evening, his mother was reading a story to his little sister, while Gaspar was waiting for his own story...His mother was in the room near him,his door was opened, and the book was opened on his bed,and the epee (arm mentioned in the text) near him.He was in the second situation mentionned in the text,he couldn't take this arm,it was too late...

Against a marvellous young boy, very cleaver and imaginative,he went into this game proposed in that book...

Even if I knew nothing about the choking game, this leaves me queasy, it's very disturbing that this be in a child's book, much less be read by a kid who's heard about asphyx games. Who is this Ian Livingstone? ~Dianna Jason's mom

This is kind of muddled using Googles rudimentary

"the suave scents which emanate from the foliage of
the tree have on you an effect alleviating and
soporific.  As your eyelids are closed, you do not
notice the thick liana which slips surreptitiously
towards you while being dropped from branch in branch.
It is rolled up silently around your neck and is
tightened little by little.  You awake suffocating and
you try to catch your sword, posed with your feet.  1
If you are lucky, you tighten the arm and you just
manage to fire your sword from the end of the fingers.
But YOU CANNOT BREATHE ANY MORE now and the VEINS OF
YOUR NECK ARE ABOUT TO BURST WHILE YOUR FACE TAKES a
SCARLET COLOUR.  You slice the lianas with the ENERGY
OF the DESESPOIR until you managed in extremis to
release you from their MORTAL INFLUENCE.  You cough
abondemment and you rub the neck by contemplating the
purplished sap which runs out of appalling the
végétal.Certes you were likely TO ESCAPE the claws
from the carnivorous tree, but you do not draw any
without damage.  You lose a point of skill and two
points of endurance.  2 If you are unlucky person, in
spite of all your efforts, YOU DO NOT MANAGE TO
COLLECT YOUR EPEE.  Liana SE TIGHTENS AROUND YOUR NECK
AND YOU ARE NOT LONG In LOSING CONSCIOUSNESS.  You
were the prey of a carnivorous tree."  (the island of
