This message is about Human beings, Democracy, UNHCR, Refugees, The Iraqis,
Islam, Kurds, Human rights, Respect, Money, Donations, Angelina Jolie,
Pavarotti, Giorgio Armani, Donors, Peace, History, Campaigns and about you if
you care about these words.

Hi there,

I am SAM, an Iraqi refugee living in Lebanon at the moment; I have spent the
last 10 years of my life as a refugee registered with the UNHCR in Beirut. The
last 4 years, I have spent as an activist for peace and human rights (especially
refugees and asylum seekers) on the Internet; I'm also books author and ebooks
publisher. I have launched many campaigns to improve our situation as refugees
in Lebanon and hopefully bring more understanding to our problems worldwide. I
helped make many changes and improvements at the UNHCR office in Beirut; I used
the Internet as the field for my activities (you can read more about that in my
free ebook 'MY CAMPAIGNS'). All my ebooks are free and could be download from my
sites.

This is my newest campaign, it's about the illegal and humiliating actions of
the UNHCR, who using photos of refugees as banners and human-buttons to collect
money. This is an abuse of the dignity and humanity of the refugees and must
stop immediately and a clear public apology present by The United Nations High
Commissioner for Refugees. My friends, I am talking about the pictures you can
see here:
http://k.domaindlx.com/unhcr44

Where you can read the rest of this message as web page.

Also you can read my new campaign 'Urgent, we need smile' here:
http://peace.orgfree.com

For more info about UNHCR and life of refugees you can read my free ebooks. I
invite you as fellow humans and members of the world community to support my
campaign by reading my article on my site and see the human-buttons. The
campaign is to support and improve the UNHCR http://www.unhcr.ch especially
after the last scandals in the UN and UNHCR, just for example:

The refugees allege that UNHCR staff is selling most of the food items they are
supposed to be supplied.
"They aren't supplying sufficient food to us because they sell most of the food
items," they allege: http://allafrica.com/stories/200503140214.html
Here is another example: Burmese Refugees Withdraw Protest Against UNHCR
http://www.mizzima.com/archives/news-in-2005/news-in-april/12-April05-22.htm

"We make demonstration and fast because the UNHCR office in Cairo did nothing
for our problem..." http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/4440730.stm

Together we will build better world.

You could reach me fast via this form:

Thank you for your mail. I am basically computer science student completed M.C.A.  with 81.11% and also completed M.Phil degree in computer science. I don't have much knowledge about cancer problems. But i am very much interested to do research on these problems.
Could you suggest any research papers and basic literature for this problems.  I like to simulate the actual problem in computer.  Please give more details that will help more to my research.

If you have time, please give the step by step process of a particular problem.   It may decrease my study time and increase my programming time.

Hi all, ithought id join this group on behalf of my friend we are
praying for and is on the trial of AMG706.

My friend Ted has been on the trial now for 8 weeks, after
previously being on Glivac for over a year. Ted's tumours are
advanced, and have previously bled before Glivac. They stabilised
whilst on that treatment, but things hadn't improved.

He has now started on the phase 2 trial at the Royal Marston ,
London, UK.

He has now had the results through from the scans he had after 6
mweeks, now 8 weeks. This had shown that although they have grown
they now look a bit like cysts than tumours , being a bit
more 'squissy' than hard as they were before. Ted has a lot of pain
as the tumours are squashing his insides about, and has been
vomtiming because of this. The side effects of teh drug has made
him feel very tired. The dosage he is trialling is 125mg.
As this is a new trial we feel its good to share how teh progress is
going , and let people know they are not alone out there., its been
2.5 yrs since Ted was diagnosed, and originally given only 2months
to live

One of several factors for the AMG-706 PHASE I clinical trial
locations may have been the existing locations of previous trials for
GIST patients for the Pfizer drug SU11248. Some Patients who were
still progressing on SU11248 were offered entry into some early AMG-
706 trials as a next step. This could have influenced, for example,
the selection of MD Anderson in Houston, TX, or the AMG-706 Phase I
trial location at Premier Oncology in Santa Monica, CA, just the
other side of L.A. from City of Hope Cancer Center in Duarte, CA.
Both areas are near where GIST patients who had failed Gleevec were
trying SU11248 (aka Sugen), and also failing on that. (Speculation
on my part, only.)

In any event, Amgen asks that patients telephone the Amgen Call
Center (1-866-572-6436) for a pre-screen, to be advised and directed
to the closest available AMG-706 clinical trial center. Available
sites might conceivably expand if the drug's safety/efficacy profiles
still look good into PHASE II and III clinical trials, where larger
numbers of participants would be recruited to make up a large enough
statistical data pool.

Why there are no clinical trials scheduled in the San Francisco Bay Area either at Stanford or at UCSF.

I thought AMGEN was located in South San francisco.  Wouldn't it make sense to have a trial location for the Bay Area lms and GIST patients?

Fran has not had any side effects yet. It is given in pill form. We
won't know any results until her next scan in another month. The
acceptance criteria appear to be the usual, that you have a tumor that
has not responded to "conventional" therapy and that you be off other
chemo for at leas 4 weeks.

I had a CT scan on 9/21/04 and received, what I consider, a
good initial response after being on the drug for eight weeks. I
have an aggressive sarcoma called DSRCT.

Three of my main tumor areas showed stability. One tumor mass
grew about twenty percent. (When added up together, all four tumor
masses grew about five percent.)

I'll have another CT scan around December 15th. After about
four weeks, I noticed that I had a little less energy than before I
started the drug. I've noticed no other symptoms.

Several other AMG 706 patients that I've met said that they
have experienced some fatigue, slightly higher blood pressure and
some mild diarrhea.

One of my fellow DSRCT patients who started the trial a week
before I did showed overall stabilty after their eighth week scan.

Hi. New member here. My father has a Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor
(GIST) diagnosis and someday might have to enter into a related
clinical trial.

In the meantime, I have added a new "Link" to the Links section that
you will see on the left side of the screen on the AMG706 Yahoo Group
when viewing this Yahoo Group via the web.

GIST Support International AMG-706 Info Page

This page is updated, as needed, with info and secondary links to
current AMG-706 information, as collected for the group GIST Support
International (GSI), an organization dedicated to the support of GIST
patients, families, and friends and the ongoing research required to
treat and cure Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors.

GIST patients who are actually in AMG-706 trials occasionally post to
