The Weston A. Price Foundation teaches the importance of eating fresh farm foods
from non-toxic farmers - now, we are taking the next essential step.
We need to protect both the right of the farmer to provide and the right of the
consumer to purchase these foods.
To that end, the Weston A. Price Foundation guided and supported the launch of
the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund (FTCLDF), on July 4, 2007.
The FTCLDF, a non-profit foundation, is an advocate for both farmer and consumer
rights on issues such as:
-Sale of raw milk
-NAIS (National Animal Identification System)
-On-farm processing and sale of products
-Cow, herd or farm-share agreements
-Medical, educational or governmental interference with the transport, purchase
or consumption of raw milk.
We have modeled the FTCLDF after other highly effective legal defense
associations that have created a supportive, less restrictive and more
respectful relationship between the public and national governmental agencies.
We look forward to similar success for the Nation's small farms!
With FTCLDF support we will see:
-Farmers enjoying prosperous enterprises, free of bureaucratic challenges.
-Families enjoying radiant health with hassle-free access to nutrient dense
foods.
-Communities thriving with active fresh farm food commerce.
-Local, state and national institutions & government agencies engaged in
respectful dialogue, expanding avenues for distribution and sale.
Seem like a stretch? It may be for now - but the journey of 1,000 steps starts
with the first.
Our first step is to believe that we will be successful.
The second is to get the word out.
I hope you can help with both.
Here are three ways to help get the word out:
1. Send us contacts of potentially helpful people/organizations. It's easy -
enter them here
http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow/pub.php?module=URLTracker&cmd=track&j=15376\
7522&u=1491869. We need names of journalists and contacts at newspapers,
magazines, TV/radio shows or journals. Also, influential people you know in
organizations or companies (vendors, farm organizations etc.)
2. Distribute the FTCLDF flyers or brochures at your local farmer's markets,
chapter meetings, exhibits and farm events. Post them on your website or yahoo
groups. Get them here:
http://ent.groundspring.org/EmailNow/pub.php?module=URLTracker&cmd=track&j=15376\
7522&u=1491870 (includes one page flyer, trifold brochure, membership
application, and donation form).
3. Volunteer - Would you like to help with coordinating a launch picnic in your
state? Marketing, exhibiting, recruiting new members, soliciting donations,
writing an article, etc.? Enter your information here:
