Apologies for tardy response. Going through a bit of turbulence at job these days. Here's what I heard so far.
1) My parents are still with Dr. MulkRaj Dass. My mom says she is feeling better. They are planning to stay there for a month. They are staying at a guest house provided by the lab where my father works. Otherwise, there are tons of hotels available there. But I understand they are quite expensive. (About $2000 a night). Dr. Dass is a very nice genleman, and he is very kind. He sees patients from morning 9 AM to 1 PM in the mid-night, everyday except sunday. Everyday, there are 100-200 patients visiting him, seeking treatment to all kind of illnesses. Sunday is a holiday. He sees patinets at his home every morning. In the evenings, he sees patients at hotel called Oak Bass. It's good to get a room there, but again it's busy and
expensive. Most of the times, it is ocupied by foreign patients. It's very cold there. and my parents are facing it hard to adjust. Dr. Dass basically puts his fingers at certain parts of the body (head, spinal, belly button...) and my mom says she can literally feel some kind of current passing through her. Don"t know how much it is helping her, but she says she is feeling better. And my parents are looking forward to continuw this treatment. Dr. Dass said it will take atleast 3months to see a significant difference. Dr. Dass does his services for free. Anything else, you want to know, let me know and I shall ask my parents.
2) I spoke to my family doctor here about the treatment given to his wife. She is being given a injection called CARNITOR. In India it is called CARNITINE. Essentially, this regenerates musacles faster than the antibodies degenrate the muscles. I must say, she is back into normal life from near death with ALS after being
adminsitered with this medication. This medication in Canada is quite expensive and is ohbtained only with prescription. It costs $750 per shot and we need to give 2-3 shots a week depending on weight of the person.
Now, can anybody please investigate where we can get this vaccination in India. How much it costs and how to get it.
3) Does anybody have any experience with doctors in Bangalore neurology hospital. Apparently, it's quite famous and they are treating some ALS people there.
