Abuse and neglect of children who are deaf/hard of hearing (d/hh) is an
ugly and all too common reality. Unfortunately, we do not know the
extent to which parents and professionals are prepared deal with this
reality. As a result, I am asking you to take five minutes to complete
a brief, confidential, online survey
(
http://www.deafed.net/PublishedDocs/CAN_Web_Intro.pdf).
Your completion of the survey represents the first step in a nationwide,
collaborative effort to address this horrific wrong. Upon submission of
your survey, you will have the opportunity to:
1) learn some basic facts concerning child abuse and neglect;
2) receive a list of critical online resources; and
3) join a network of concerned individuals.
Thank you for assisting in this effort, together we CAN make a
difference!
Respectfully,
Harold A. Johnson, Professor
