The Office of Deaf Services in partnership with the Division of
Substance Abuse at the Alabama Department of Mental Health is pleased to
present "Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Deaf Consumers." This training
will be held on Friday, March 7 in Montgomery, AL at the Alabama Public
Library. This training is open to anyone who is interested in enhancing
their skills with deaf consumers.
The presenters will be Dr. Amanda O'Hearn and Ms. Sharon Haynes from the
Deaf Wellness Center at the University of Rochester Medical Center in
Rochester, NY. Dr. O'Hearn and Ms. Haynes have made considerable
modifications to both written materials and methods to make Dialectical
Behavior Therapy accessible for deaf consumers. We are extremely pleased
to have them both.
Attached is the flyer and registration information.
This workshop is sponsored by the Gallaudet University Regional Centers,
