are proud to host "A Prescription for Success: An Intensive 3-Day
Seminar for ASL Interpreting in Medical Settings"
at Mount Sinai Hospital on September 14th, 15th, and 16th
This 3-day intensive seminar is designed for ASL interpreters who are
highly motivated to provide medical interpreting for Deaf, hard of
hearing, and Deaf-Blind
patients. This seminar will include exciting workshops such as "The
Demand-Control Schema" and " Use of ASL Classifiers in Medical Settings"
Daily opportunities for
hands-on activities and role-playing with actual doctors and patients
from Mount Sinai Hospital will be available for seminar attendees. The
seminar will also
provide ideas for mentoring, internships, and independent studies as the
next step for professional development.
Target audience:
RID/NAD Certified Interpreters
Certified Deaf Interpreters
Interpreters with State Levels
Pre-Certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Interpreters
Students in the Interpreting Training Programs
RID CEUs will be provided.
