ADARA UPDATE GOES ELECTRONIC
ADARA's quarterly newsletter, the UPDATE, is now an online publication,
President Steve Hamerdinger announced. It can be found at
http://www.adara.org/pages/newsletter.shtml.
The UPDATE, the official newsletter of ADARA, is intended to keep
members and other interested people informed about what is happening
around the country and around the world with ADARA and about news in
deafness and social services.
Hamerdinger stated that the change in publication format was intended to
broaden the audience of the newsletter as well as make it easier to get
information out in a timely manner. "When the UPDATE was published
'ODT' - that's 'on dead trees' for those who are wondering - it was
limited to black and white, a set number pages and no more that 4 times
a year. Now we can do full-color, as large or small as we want and as
often as we want."
Among the highlights of the new version will be clickable links within
the text to take readers to sites of interest mentioned in the
newsletter. The editors will also work very hard to make the UPDATE
more member-centered by giving them a place to sound off, show off and,
in general, let the world know that is happening in their lives.
ADARA encourages its member to spread the word about the UPDATE and to
share this exciting new newsletter. To see the current edition, go to

Submissions to the Update are encouraged. Send submissions to
ADARAOrgn@.... Acceptable submissions include: announcements about
conferences and training events, reports about activities of interest to
the membership, member photos and achievements, press releases from
member organizations and member-written opinion pieces. The editors
reserve the right to refuse content that inappropriate.
The UPDATE will also accept some advertising. Contact the Editors for
more information.
