Press Release: Sign Language Interpreter and Agency website   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #664 of 998 |
Washington, DC September 2006:

A new online portal has launched geared towards sign language Interpreters and
Agencies that serve the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind, Within one
website the
public can view available Interpreters and Agencies and compare prices,
availability, and
experience. By being centralized, it's also easier for employers to post career
or freelance
interpreting work and begin reviewing applications that comes in.

With an increasing demand for quality interpreting services, the website
permits the
consumers and clients the opportunity to rate services rendered. Conducting a
keyword or
multilingual search, viewers will be able to track down those specifically
experienced or
certificated in legal, medial, or with a foreign sign language. Providing for
people who
have unique communication needs, the database covers many aspects from American
Sign
Language (ASL) to Signing Exactly English (SEE) and Tactile Interpreting.

"An exciting website", said a seasoned NAD certificated Interpreter, "because
it's a
one-of-a-kind, and will take accessibility to a new level." With the support of
the
Interpreting Community and the public, it's certain that the website will become
a strong
accommodating tool for getting much needed services on a nationwide scale.

The website also offers free sign-ups for Mentors who want to help others
enhance
their sign language skills and for Support Service Providers, who avail
themselves to work
with those who are Deaf-Blind. Also, a backend forum community permits for
professional
development discussion and networking.

Anyone may begin an online search for Interpreters or Agencies at
www.InterpreterConnections.com, searching by state or by the variety of Sign
Language
Certificates offered by states and associations. Signing up at this
user-friendly site is free
and has a positive future.
