ADARA FORUMS PRESENTS
"MANAGING TO PREVENT BURNOUT"
As part of the continuing series of on-line forums, ADARA will be
offering a session on management and supervision. The discussion on
"Managing to Prevent Burnout," will be led by Asiah Mason, Ph.D, on
Monday, November 21st at 8:00 PM Central Time (9 PM Eastern time, 6 PM
Pacific Time) in the ADARA Chat Room.
Dr. Mason, who is on the faculty at Gallaudet University, Department of
Psychology, has created and directed a comprehensive education and
mental health program for deaf and hard of hearing children and
adolescence experiencing emotional and behavior problems. She has a
deep clinical interest in coaching treatment team and administrators of
mental health agencies on therapeutic systems.
This session will focus on how supervisors and program managers can
better support their employees and manage human resources in more
effective ways. Dr Mason will bring her clinical and management
experience to the fore as she gives practical suggestions for preventing
employee burnout.
Upcoming forums include ""Challenges of Cultural Diversity," led by Dr.
Cheryl Wu on December 19th, "Current Research at the Deaf Wellness
Center," led by Dr. Robert Pollard on January 16th, 2006, and "Health
Care and Deaf People," led by Jacque Dalton. Other exciting forums are
in development and will be announced in the weeks ahead.
