POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Executive Director
Janice Capilouto Center for the Deaf-Easter Seal
Seeking a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual to lead a
non-profit community based program focused on service provision to
individuals who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. The Executive Director
of is responsible to the JCCDES Board of Directors for the efficient and
ethical performance of duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education equivalent to a master's degree with major coursework in
rehabilitation services/counseling, education of deaf or hard of hearing
individuals, or related field required. Five years of work experience
in the field of rehabilitation of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing required,
with paid work experience in administration and supervision; Sign
language skills required; Experience in budgeting, human resource
management and inter-agency collaboration desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Direct program in accordance with the organizational mission
2. Direct and Supervise staff to carry out program objectives
3. Coordinate all public relations activities
4. Collaborate/Coordinate with other community service providers
5. Relate in a positive manner with the Deaf community and other
disability-related groups
6. Coordinate activities of the Board of Directors
7. Communicate/Network with rehabilitation professionals and
funding entities
8. Provide fiscal management of the budget and accounting
processes.
9. Develop avenues for new funds
