About the Presenter:

Barry Critchfield, Ph.D. is Director of Mental Health Services to Deaf
and Hard of Hearing People with the South Carolina Department of Mental
Health. He has worked in this position for 16 years, and assisted in the
development of a national model of services to Deaf people in mental
health. Prior to his present position, he was Director of Counseling and
a School Psychologist at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont.
He has also worked at the Louisiana School for the Deaf and Crossroads
Rehabilitation Center in Indianapolis. He has a PhD in Educational
Psychology from Brigham Young University and a Masters Degree from
California State University at Northridge.
