"MENTAL HEALTH - TRAINING FOR INTERPRETERS"


Would you like to provide interpretive services in mental health
settings and situations but are afraid you do not have enough
knowledge about mental illnesses, terminology and treatment? If so,
this class will help you overcome those fears. Topics include:


* Assessment and Diagnostic Questions Ethics
* Mental illnesses Mental
Health Systems
* Terminology/Glossary Do's and Don'ts
* Cultural Bound Syndromes Counseling techniques
* Community Resources Roles of Treatment
Team Members
* Treatment Role plays



* Next class is August 10-11, 2004, 9:00AM- 4:00PM in
Nashville. Please bring your lunch or dine out from 12:00-1:00PM.

* Class is free but requires preregistration and $15.00
deposit which will be returned upon completion of class.
* Class is limited to 15 people so please register early.
Deposit will be forfeited if class is not completed.
* Instructor : Fran Peebles, LCSW, has been the Clinical
Director for the Mental Health Association of Middle TN for 8 years.
She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working with
multicultural groups for 6 years. Under a grant from the TN
Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities she has
written a curriculum and is conducting mental health classes for
interpreters across the State of Tennessee.
