Many of us older deaf people will remember the old "Silent Worker"
newspaper, the foremost of the so-called "little papers" that were
published in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. I am still amazed
at the literacy competence of those old deaf writers and occasionally
mourn the poor comparison with contemporary writing. For those of you
who desire a trip down "memory lane" or just want to see what life was
like at the turn of the century, the following is an indispensable
