This is a list mainly for members of the Suncoast chapter of the Association of Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA). We also welcome those who have an interest in our chapter and those in Florida (and a few other states) without a local chapter and who need support dealing with their deafness.

ALDAns can no longer rely on their hearing to understand communication. We use "whatever works" to help us regain our ability to communicate. These include assistive devices and methods of communication such as speech reading, sign language, realtime (CART), and notes.

Our chapter's meetings and activities provide the much needed opportunity to socialize, something that is generally lost with deafness.
