Hi all,
I am copying a paragraph from a recent e-mail below for those of you who have not seen this earlier mailing.
For all of you, this family is interested in employing massage therapists....(s) to help Terrence. Please be aware that the school is only taking a limited access view of this situation. It would be very easy for the students to be called upon too often. Terrence is very interested in receiving, but needs to learn that he must participate verbally as well as learning some self-care techniques.
If it is of interest to you and you are interested in intermittent home visits, please feel free to call me at school 703-464-0333 to talk about it or even better, please call the Taylors at 703-648-9336.

We have been approached by a neighbor off West Ox Road. Louise Taylor called me and asked if I might know of any Massage Therapist(s) who would consider seeing her son on weekends for in-home massage therapy. As I learned more, I found out that her son, Terrence is 20 years old. When he was six, he was burned over 60% of his body from an accident with a space heater. He has come in here twice and we have established a relationship of kinds. If any graduates/CMTs are interested in the outcall work or would like to contact Louise/Terrence, please feel free to do so. If any students wish to call Terrence (and he, his mother, Wendy Hart (student), Vinny Dodson (supervisor), and I encourage you to do so), to arrange for him to come to AKS as a practice body, PLEASE do so. He is comfortable here and presents both a willing body and a body in need of touch. He does have fluid build-up in his face after his most recent reconstructive surgery on his face. We have recommended that he consider seeing a therapist trained in lymph drainage. The rest of his body has many many scars from the burns and from the skin grafts. He is not sensitive to touch and really enjoys the work. Please consider calling him at: 703-648-1826.
