Requirements:  DC License required, Hot Stone training preferred, but not a must

Positions:  Full-time and part-time (start *now* at DC location, or work with us in January at our new VA location in Tyson's Corner)
Schedule:  looking for a variety of days, evenings and weekends depending on your availability

The Grooming Lounge (www.groominglounge.com), Washington, D.C.'s premiere destination for fine men's grooming services and products is looking for some skilled, motivated, team-oriented massage therapists to join our crew!  We are conveniently located (just off the Metro's Red Line) at 1745 L Street NW.   The Grooming Lounge combines the comfort and atmosphere of a classic barbershop with the advances of a modern health spa (In addition to massage therapy, we offer hair cuts, hot lather shaves, facials, waxing & foot and hand treatments).
Therapists who currently work at the Grooming Lounge find it to be a fun, laid-back, professional atmosphere with plenty of opporutnities for growth.  The shop in DC is our first (we're headed into our 5th year at that location) and we'll be opening another location right in the middle of the action in the Tysons Galleria (Tysons Corner, VA) in January 2006!  We are paving the way in the rapidly growing business of men's grooming products and services.

Our MTs operate with a great deal of autonomy.  We have a high booking percentage (that means more money in your pocket and less sitting around) and you will have an opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company that is looking for hard-working, achievement-oriented, excellence-driven massage therapists.  Our MTs make 45% of each session (the fee for an hour of massage is $90...increasing to $100 in mid-October), plus tips (tips average between $10 and $20 per session).   (After taxes, you will be walking with about $35 per session, plus cash-only tips.)
Not so excited about working only on male clients?  The Grooming Lounge is uspcale and centrally located.  The men who come to the Grooming Lounge for massage therapy come for an above-board, legitemately therapeutic massage.   As I said earlier, the Grooming Lounge is a professional environment and the men who are our guests respect...and *expect* that.

We are looking for 2-3 therapists to start work immediately at our DC location and 2-3 more who are interested in working at our location in Tysons Corner when it opens this Winter.  If you have questions or concerns about this posting, please feel free to reply to this email or to  call the Grooming Lounge directly at 202.466.8900 and ask to speak with Antoinette or Bill.
We're looking forward to working with you!

No single therapeutic agent can be compared in efficiency with...The Human Hand. If half as much research had been expended on the principles governing manual treatment as upon pharmacology, the hand would be esteemed today on par with drugs in acceptability and power.
