They say that love conquers all, which is somewhat naive.  We had a situation with our son  however, that was extreme.  We were advised that our best course of action was to give him the unconditional love we felt for him in spite of our being most upset with him....and leave it at that.  We didn't know what else to do but it seemed like the most positive thing we could do, and we did, and it did work out for the best.  We have a complication with our son in that he definitely has Aspergers, but he's no longer a child chronologically, he's 39.
