Need info for metro New York area (NY, NJ, Connecticut, etc) please!   Message List

Hello,

We will perhaps someday move to the metro New York area (NY, NJ, Connecticut areas) for my husband's job in the banking industry.  We have a 4 yr old daughter dx w/HFA or AS (unclear as of yet) and sematic pragmatic disorder, auditory processing disorder.  Could anyone recommend a GOOD, small, mainstream school that has dealt with this type of disability in the NY, NJ, Connecticut areas?  Any information about support, therapists, etc., in these areas would be most helpful.

Also, my husband is French and I am American.  We speak both languages at home.  Has anyone ever had experience with a bilingual AS household?

At the moment, we live in the UK (London) and we love it here.  Unfortunately, the services they have for children is rotten.  Hence our goal of first finding the right school for her, then a place to call home.

Thanks everyone,

Suz
