At 7am this morning 11 August 2003, Jack Jagjit Singh pass away today
peacefully at his home with his family at his side.

Funereal service will be held this afternoon at 2 pm at his home in
Kajang Address is 2, Jalan KLLN 7, Taman Koperasi LLN Kajang. Take
the exit from Seremban Highway to Kajang. Pass Sg Chua village. Turn
right after seeing KFC on the left. After 1 km, turn into Taman
Koperasi on left after seeing the Carlsberg sign on lamppost.

Jack is a former Malaysian AIDS Council ExCo member who represented
PLWHAs. He also pioneered GNP+ and APN+, 2 regional groups for
PLWHAs. His involvement with HIV/AIDS work started with Pink
Triangle. He was a founder member of Positive Living, one of the 6
communities that PT Foundation work with.

Jack is regarded as Malaysia's longest living person living with
HIV/AIDS (PLWHA), more than 18 years. He came out publicly as HIV+ at
the 17th ICAAP Conference in Malaysia serving as a beacon of hope for
thousands of Malaysians. He has appeared in numerous press and
television interviews. He is best known for his strong desire to live
life full come what may, and survived many AIDS battles before
finally succumbing to liver coma this morning.

Jack leaves behind his mother who has been his anchor of love and
support all these years, and sisters.

I encourage all of you to donate cash for the family to offset
funereal costs, instead of wreaths. Please liase with Hisham on
arrangements. More importantly, all your prayers are much
appreciated. And let us renew our pledge to make lives of PLWHAs more
dignified and livable by eliminating social prejudice and
discrimination.
