The reponse to the posting " Asian HIV and AIDS program leaders
support network" has drawn the attention and interest of many
leaders working in field of HIVAIDS in Asia region. We warmly
welcome your enquires and gratefully acknowledge our thanks all
those who had written to us to be part of the "Asian HIVAIDS Program
Leaders Network"

The unprecedented rise in the number of Asian HIV / AIDS
program leaders working across borders in the region and taking
increasing responsibilities often "reserved" for "professionals from
the west" has increased. The professional leap and advanced they
made has been extraordinary and phenomenal. Many feel that there is
a need for developing informal mechanisms to support and facilitate
this phenomenon.

Some of the Asian HIV and AIDS program leaders who are working on
HIV/AIDS issues beyond the border of their own countries met during
the 7th ICAAP in Kobe unanimously agreed to establish an informal
mutual support network to enhance skills and make a greater impact
on work and HIVAIDS related program in the region.

If you are an Asian working on HIV/AIDS issues beyond the
boundaries of your home country we once again invited you to share
your experience in working on HIV/AIDS related issues beyond the
borders of your country.
