TREAT Asia is pleased to announce a regional meeting on Pediatrics
and HIV in Southeast Asia, scheduled for 9-10 September 2005. This
initial meeting will explore the potential of forming a
collaborative network on pediatrics and HIV (similar to the TREAT
Asia adult network), as well as creating the first-ever Southeast
Asian HIV/AIDS pediatrics observational database. This database
would be modeled on the success of the adult TREAT Asia HIV
Observational Database (TAHOD)[1],[2]. The meeting will take place
in Bangkok over the course of 2 days (Friday/Saturday), bringing
together providers, donors, foundations, and others interested in
pediatric HIV/AIDS from Viet Nam, Cambodia, China, Indonesia,
Thailand and perhaps a few other countries.
The tentative agenda includes country presentations regarding
pediatric HIV/AIDS, programs of the participating clinics, and the
potential of working collectively to address treatment gaps and the
need for comprehensive outcomes data in children being treated for
HIV disease.
If you are interested in participating in this first-ever meeting,
kindly contact project manager Michel Ng (michel.ng@...).
