Nelson Mandela to host “46664: The Message” Evening
Event at IAC2004
Leadership Program
XV International AIDS Conference 2004
July 5, 2004
**********************************************************
The Nelson Mandela Foundation in cooperation with the
new Leadership Program will host “46664 – The
Message”, an evening session on Thursday, July 15,
2004 at 20:00 at the Impact Center. Nelson Mandela
himself will give a short message after the
presentation and the video collage of his foundation’s
HIV/AIDS work. 46664’s ambassadors will also be
present and give short messages for those in
attendance.
In November 2003, Nelson Mandela launched his
worldwide, music-led campaign, “46664”, to raise
awareness about HIV/AIDS in Africa. The launch was
marked by a world-class concert in Cape Town, South
Africa. Famous vocalists and rock stars such as Bono,
Beyonce, and Queen joined in supporting this campaign,
either by performing or attending the concert.
In keeping with his retirement announcement – Mr
Mandela will only participate in this event and the
closing ceremony during his visit to Bangkok. Don’t
miss this special opportunity to hear from one of the
world’s greatest leaders and learn from his
experience. Renew your commitment to the HIV/AIDS
struggle and be inspired by what others have
accomplished.
“46664 - The Message” will take place in Session Room
A from 20:00 – 21:30 on Thursday, July 15, 2004 at the
International AIDS Conference in Bangkok.
