Dear Forum and Friends,

This was the first time in Andhra pradesh we had the program like this, a long
waited MSM Community Convention (Melukolupu- The Awakening) to address Stigma
and Discrimination towards community as well as to showcase the collectivization
of the community, on 27th November, 2008 at Laitha Kala Thoranum- Hyderabad.

3000 community members from entire Andhra Pradesh and MSM Leaders from other
states also represented the meeting to address the issues.

The event had the cultural programs and a Fashion show. Suraksha Society on
behalf of all the community members- Thanks, Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control
Society (APSACS) and AVAHAN for organizing a program which gave a platform for
the community, to share and express their feeling.

We are very much thankful to the Media partners who have given a positive
response and the Police to extend their support in Rally. We once again thank
each person by their name who supported, participated and made the program a
grand success.
